Visitation from Abroad / Fullbright IEA members, USA
On Thursday, June 20, 2024, seven Fulbright International Education Associates (IEA) Program participants from the United States visited our Sendagaya Campus.
In her welcome speech, President Takahashi introduced Umeko Tsuda, who will be the new portrait on the 5,000 yen bill starting July 3, followed by a talk by Director Nakai of the Center for International Exchange on Tsuda University and the university's international exchange programs.
Following welcome remarks by Dean Morikawa of the College of Policy Studies, Professor Gavan Patrick Gray of the college gave a presentation on English education in the Department of Policy Studies.
After a question-and-answer session and self-introductions by the participants, there was an opportunity for exchange with Tsuda students who had just returned from studying abroad at partner universities in the United States. IEA participants asked the students many questions about why they decided to study abroad, their experiences while studying abroad, and the changes they have experienced since their study abroad, and a lively exchange of opinions ensued.
