Hi there! Today we are living in a world that is more connected than ever before. Through the Internet, we can exchange information and ideas with people around the world at anytime and anywhere. So how to effectively understand, and be understood by, different people from different cultural background in the digital age? Come and join me at Tsuda University to find out more about intercultural communication together!
My research focuses on ICT (Information Communication Technologies), media communication, and social psychology. In particular, on how media information affects our behaviours in times of crises. It began in 2012, when I came to Japan to conduct my doctoral research on the roles and effects of ICT and mass media in the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake. My current research project is to investigate the impacts of SNS and Internet media on social stability, especially on the rise of fake news and post-truth politics.
